Free audio effects library


Open Game Art - Link
Has a large collection of 3D models, textures, audio special effects, music, tutorials, and anything else you might need if you're doing game design.


Pixabay - Link
A free stock photo library, which is particularly useful for designers.


Textures.com - Link
A library of reference images and texture photos. With a free account, you get 15 free credits for textures per day, to spend on downloading the completely royalty-free images to use however you want, plus a free texture each day.


YouTube Audio Library - Link
A library of royalty-free music and audio effects that can be monetized on YouTube. You need to be signed into your Google account to access it.

ArtStation - Link
A community for industry artists, 3D modelers, and designers, with the ability to build portfolios and partitipate in contests.


deviantArt - Link
A more casual artist community, with the ability to upload and/or enjoy most art forms that exist.


Dribbble - Link
A community for graphic and web designers, with the option to hire/be hired, podcasts, and meetups.


Sketchfab - Link
A community for 3D modelers, and people working in AR and VR. Students can sign up for a free Pro account using their student email address.

Codecademy - Link
A site for education in many different web code and programming languages, completely free to use.


Creative Bloq - Link
An online blog with numerous daily articles for digital and traditional artists, designers, and animators.


Pixar in a Box - Link
A completely free series of online courses, created by the combined efforts of Pixar and Khan Academy. They give insights into how Pixar animations are written and produced, with courses on many aspects of animated filmmaking.


Udemy - Link
A massive online education platform, with courses on everything from design, art, and animation to languages and health. The initial price tags on most courses may be off-putting, but once you have a free account on their site, you'll find that many courses are always part of significantly less expensive sales.

Professional-grade texturing programs Substance Painter and Substance Designer, for use with 3D models. Free student licenses, with a photo of current Student ID.


AlternativeTo - Link
A fantastic search site that lets you type in any program or website, and find similar alternatives. Also has the ability to limit the software results by OS and licensing.


Autodesk - Link
Home of industry standard 3D programs, such as Maya, 3DS Max, Mudbox, and AutoCAD. Free 3-year license for any program in their catalogue, when signing up with a student email address.


Blender - Link
An open-source 3D program, capable of 3D modeling and sculpting, rigging, animation, VFX, and video compositing.


Brackets - Link
Open-source text editor for web designers and developers, with a built in WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) preview that lets you see your updates as you make them.


Foundation Framework - Link
An open-source HTML, CSS, and JavaScript framework for web designers. Also the framework I customized with PHP for the current version of this very site, with a lot of solid documentation.


MH Tutorials - Link
A site full of 3D modeling, rigging, and animation tutorials, as well as freebies and courses for learning.


Paletton - Link
Free colour scheme generator, with the ability to export your schemes as an image, or as various web code languages.


Random Words Exercise - Link
A site designed for writers, to help them through writer's block with various prompt generators. This is what I often use to come up with the word prompt for my daily sketch sessions.

Responsive web design testing emulator, for iPhone and iPad sizes.


Texture King - Link
A site for royalty-free stock textures for designers and artists to use.


Textures.com - Link
A digital library of reference images and texture photos. A free account comes with 15 credits daily to spend on downloading images.
